The Colours You Paint Me was a seamless extension of the Winter Flight era.
A zenith, based on the evolution experience that had passed before. Inside Edge had found their equilibrium and the music had become fluid.
From Caged Bird to Winter Flight, and onto TCYPM, Inside Edge always knew what it wanted to say, and it knew how to say it.
It was in the music, the lyrics, the sound, the artwork and everything Inside Edge did. Every heartbeat, every emotion, every story.
The pathway was founded on faith, passion, friendship, and the love of music.

At their rehearsal studio in New Mills, Inside Edge continued songwriting whilst recruiting a new vocalist.
Step forward Phil, a friend of previous vocalist Matt, and another excellent vocalist.
The evolution was essential. The result was ‘The Colours You Paint Me’
Once again Inside Edge returned to The Shed Studio, this time to record ‘The Colours You Paint Me’, featuring the tracks:

Your latest storm
Your Latest Storm was the second song on the studio recording The Colours You Paint Me.
It was at this time in the evolution that Inside Edge started to sell band merchandise at their gigs, including demos, photographs, posters and t-shirts.

We’ll Find a Way was the second song on the studio recording The Colours You Paint Me.
The songs were part of a new burst of creative output from Inside Edge, which included songs like ‘Changes’, Turn Every Stone’, and ‘Untold’.

inside edge live
Inside Edge was primarily about live music. Gigs and concerts were the natural home of the band, and they spent hours rehearsing at their studio in New Mills.
The rehearsal studio was setup for playing/rehearsing live, with its own p.a. system and lighting rig.
Inside Edge used the rehearsal studio as a base to write material, rehearse, facilitate meetings and showcase their music.
Most of the band photography was taken at the rehearsal studio or nearby locations like, Lyme Park and The Torrs, in New Mills.
